Description
The FrogLog is an animal escape ramp for swimming pools that was tested and developed by wildlife biologist, Rich Mason. Rich partnered with Swimline Corp (Parent company of Hydrotools) to manufacture and distribute the product to the pool industry. The FrogLog works for animals up to one pound: Frogs, Toads, Salamanders, Chipmunks, Ducklings, Lizards, Snakes, Small Turtles, Small Rabbits, Squirrels Mice, Bees, Birds, Bats, and more. How does it work? Through hundreds of hours of testing, we determined that most animals will escape from a pool if given a way out after falling in. Many animals panic and swim around the pool edge until bumping into the FrogLog, climbing up and escaping the water. Other animals like squirrels or chipmunks may key in on the FrogLog and swim directly to it. Multiple units should be used in larger pools. Several hundred thousand are in use in 40+ countries. Our simple device has helped countless pool owners solve a pesky problem and helped conserve millions of small animals. The FrogLog is a must have for conservation minded pool owners and those that want to reduce pool maintenance and keep their pool water free of bacteria. The FrogLog is simple to set up and use, and is made of Denier nylon that is safe for pool surfaces. The effectiveness, simplicity and unique nature of the FrogLog has garnered attention from many media outlets.

I just opened my pool after a long winter. Day one and critters are already jumping in. So I got this.Last year I had another rescue floater like this, but it was junk and rotted inside of a month. This is inflatable (takes a few seconds to blow up). I put a roll of lead rope (used for fishing weights) in the flappy piece. At first I thought I had it upside down. I would think the side with the netting-like material should be on top, but it's in the water.Usually I get a mole a week, and 1-3 frogs a day in my skimmer. After I put this in, not a single animal died in my pool. It's only been a month so far, but it's working better than expected. The side wings collect leaves, but they allow animals to climb up onto the floater part. I will need a heavier weight in the pocket on the concrete. Several times a week I can see it moved as if a larger animal climbs on and moves it. Five pounds should be enough.I have this on the opposite side of the skimmer. It's closer to the grass where they come from. My guess is they enter near it to get a drink and scamper off. If I had it by the skimmer, they would go in by the grass and never make it to the skimmer side.I'd buy this again. Built good and works well so far.
