A summer has now passed in Phoenix. I have had zero pool deaths for the first time in 17 years. It is hard to know whether these work or not, but this result is suggestive of the product working as advertised. I believe they will last another season in spite of our scortching sun. I filled mine with small rocks in a plastic bag. The netting seems to trap small leaves on the surface but they wash off fairly easily and the flotation device can also be deflated and removed to wash out any debri that gets under the netting. I would recommend. I only bought two for a 13 x 75 lap pool even though the recommendation was for more. This is our 3rd summer using Frog Logs. We have 1 on each side of the pool and have had ZERO casualties since we started using them, which is truly amazing. Now we can enjoy our pool without feeling the guilt associated with the loss of life we experienced in then past. They are easy to put together and inflate, and hold up extremely well. During this season’s drought, we’ve had (seemingly) 1 intrepid squirrel who likes to balance himself on the pad to have a drink from the pool - addded bonus!Product is so well made and simple to set up. Frogs are drawn to it and the number of frogs found in my skimmers in the morning have reduced from 4-6 to none on most days. One small issue is that one or two seem to enjoy the frog log and have remained in pool for days.I’ve seen frogs sitting on it. I don’t know if they are planning on getting out or waiting 20 min after eating to go back in but I’m not finding them in the filter. We purchased two, they appear to be well made. You need something to weigh down the anchor that lays outside the pool, a handful of sand, a few stones should work fine.I was getting out at least three frogs a week most of the time they were dead. I have had this for a little over a month and since then no frogs at all. I am really pleased with itWe live in the country where small critters abound so I bought these a month or so ago in an effort to avoid at least some carnage. My whole family teased me for it because they thought these were a silly gimmick. I mean, are they necessary? Probably not. You could leave any floatation device in the water as a "rescue" device. What I like about these is they can be specifically placed (just outside skimmers at our place) and won't float around the pool. Do they save every frog and toad that makes its way into your water? No. Do they save half? That's debatable. All I know is that they save SOME. We pull frogs out of our skimmer baskets every single day. There's no way of knowing how many these little devices save, but I do have proof that they save SOME and that's better than none. ?✌️Save the frogs✌️Super easy to use and saves all kinds of animals and critters that fall into the pool. Haven’t had a dead frog or animal since we put in the pool.I had a mom setup a nursery in my poolShe hatched out eleven (11) ducklingsThese worked very good for about 1 month from hatch. The small ducks, about 30 days old were able to rip apart the flange on the sides.I let them destroy about half of this, until I got annoyed. They were always tugging at it.So I cut off all the flange from the sides on both of ,my Frog LogsThat lasted a couple weeks. Then they worked on the mesh under one of them and destroyed that. Now I have one flange less FrogLog left that they haven't picked on yet.Other than that, they have been great for the birds to get in and out of the pool.critical for the first month of growthThis is excellent. Two days after introducing it to our pool I went down and found a hedgehog on the platform! Brilliant. He/she was unharmed and safe. Thank you Frog Lovely gIt really works! Today it saved 2 frogs and up to now I’ve saved 6 frogs since I’ve had it. ! I was sceptical at first especially as I have a pool cover over it, but they sit on top of the pad until I check every morning!Hopefully no more dead frogs in my pool. Very simple idea and now installed near the skimmer to allow frogs to escape. As a first time pool owner, I was not at all aware of how many little creatures find their way in with no way out. It was devastating to find a dead mouse, frogs and countless bees. I found myself having to check the pool constantly to try and save lives. I purchased this item hoping it would at least help. I have had it installed for five days and there has not been a single frog or small mammal in the pool when I've gone to check! It has been raining quite a bit which normally brings them out and into the pool. While I have not actually witnessed anything using the ramp, the pool has been free of little creatures which leads me to believe it's working as intended. There still seem to be insect casualties but definitely less than before. I'm very pleased. My husband found this and I ordered it right away after finding a sweet little frog in our filter who was fighting for his life. We got him out safe and sound but last year I found a chipmunk and this year I've found 2 dead mice so after the frog I was happy to find something to help save them. It's been about 2 weeks since I set it up and I'm happy that I haven't found anything in the filter. Arrived very fast, and well packaged. SUPER easy to set up. I highly recommend this product if you own a pool.
